Just thought I’d share with the group. After owning an old MG midget many years ago when I had no money, I set upon a ques to find my dream car. I love the aesthetics of vintage cars and looked at (seriously) Austin Harley 3000s, Sunbeam Tigers, Triumphs, and ( the last one I drove) a Datsun Fairlady.

i discovered after having driven modern performance cars that none of these still excited me. I want a car that I can work on and improve, that still makes me salivate after looking at it, and that is exciting to drive.

The XK 150s looked awesome, but were out of my range financially at first. Then I found one that was mechanically sound but needed some TLC. Then I drove it. Holy cow.

A modern performance car with classic aesthetics that a non cyborg can actually turn a wrench on. Needless to say, I am hooked. The more I drive it (2009 XK convertible), the more I love it.

Thank you, forum posters, for educating me on this vehicle. It is truly a work of art, and your information on this forum has been invaluable in helping me end a 20+ year quest for my four wheeled soulmate.

Congrats! I recently pulled the trigger on an 09 XK coupe myself and even as it nears 200k Miles, it’s An absolute joy.
