HI everyone. Im planning on buying an 5.0 XKR in the next 6 months. Opinions on whether the fuel costs increasing dramatically in the next few months will have an impact on the prices? Thinking i might get a better deal here in California when it goes to $7 a gallon soon? Im noticing more of them for sale recently on bring a trailer than usual....maybe there unloading them before this gas spike hits?
How many people here even know what their XKR gets? I measure in smiles per miles
I know what mine gets because I always have it displayed on the dash but I have no idea how much fuel costs as I just enable the pump using an app, put 50 litres in and drive off (50 litres is the discount limit so why put in more?).
Irregardless of fuel prices, I've noticed historically strong values for 2007-2015 XK/XKRs on BAT for well cared for and low mileage cars. These are the highest prices I've seen for our cars.
Fuel prices don't really affect non daily drivers. You can pick and choose how much you drive them if it's a concern. Who buys a used XKR to daily drive?
XKR values are really the least concerning scenario with a fuel cost hike.

It isn't the price of gas that's the issue cause the XKR gets pretty good gas mileage as long as you don't have a heavy foot. You gone get close to 30 miles to the Gallon out of it and a Full tank should last you a whole week as long as you only drive it for like an hour a day around the city. But most times at the end of the week,i'll still have close to a half of tank of gas for only driving it an hour each day.But i'll let you in on a little secret...People are only getting rid of Jags when they're still at a high value from low mileage cause the thing depreciates astronomically the more you drive it and they want to keep the mileage low so they can trade it for a brand new 2022 Corvette or something. So the gas isn't the issue at all they trading them in for. They only getting put up for sale all because they want brand new cars from new car models that are coming out.

If the past year or so is any example, prices on the XK/XKR wI was looking at 5.0L XKR ads because I know that as my car has about 200,000 miles on it things are going to start breaking. I was looking at 5.0L XKR so we're speaking of 2010-2015 my. There were plenty of cars available in the $23-25,000 range at the time. Try and find one now for that price, impossible! I have seen 1 or2 cars in the low $30s, but prices have crept up to the $40,000 range. As for XKRS, about a year ago, a very nice low mileage one sold for $53,000 on B.A.T. The last two that sold on B.A.T. sold for $74,000 on one and $75,000 on the other. As the V8 ICE motors become rarer and rarer and eventually will disappear in the next couple of years, I think we're finally seeing the end of the infamous Jaguar depreciation curve.
I'd suggest buying one sooner rather than later. You won't be sorry!
Whoever would want to change an XKR for a Corvette or a Mustang?
These are very different cars.
I agree the XKR is very different indeed like an Aston Martin with a Jaguar badge. Those new mid engine corvettes are on super car status with the looks tho.If XKR's done got traded in by their owners,I hope it was for the new Corvette atleast if they didn't care about downgrading the speed for the cool looks or for something even better than that atleast lol

So don't listen to these rich folks that can buy a whole gas station for all the fuel they want if they wanted to since gas not a problem for them😆 But if you want to go get you a bad azz Jag,they made the car fuel efficient to where it don't hurt your pockets in gas.I'll give you an example of what i pay for gas to get a full tank.I only get gas from exxon and the price was at $3.82 a gallon when i went for a full tank from a quarter tank a week ago.So you'll pay like $56 bucks for a full tank if you bought it at my price and the gas will last you almost as good as how they were making the V6 cars in the 90s and they legit get pretty good gas mileage

mine is my daily driver,,drkve 15-20k miles a year,,gets 21mpg overall and 26 on highway,,not bad for a 510hp 4000lb car.
Life is too short to daily drive a boring car and Im not rich enough to have a "weekend" car.
