Default Wind screen

I see some pictures of converts with the wind screen behind the front seats. Is this and option or does it come standard on the XKR. If not is it an aftermarket or and OEM product. Also how do they get attached.

This is available both OEM (as an option) and aftermarket. It snaps into the approx. 1" diameter two holes in the side trim in the rear. Aftermarket prices are about 1/3 of Jaguar OEM. Aftermarket sources include Adamesh, Welsh Enterprises and Mina Gallery.

I am also pleased to announce that my XK/XKR SmartKey Remote Top kit, which will go on sale in early 2014, will include manual control for rear windows as an option. This will further reduce wind noise whether used with or without a wind deflector.

I highly RECOMMEND the Adamesh wind deflector. I bought one 3 months ago for my 2009 Jaguar XKR. Ultra fast delivery from Adamesh LTD in UK...great price, takes minutes to install.......and it really works. Quality product at about 1/2 price of Jaguar OEM product. I paid about $380.00 delivered to my door which took 3 days from UK to NM, USA

Those wind deflectors should be STANDARD on XKR convertable. I've bought mine from Adamesh as soon as I try my XKRS on a chill night. My wife ask me to put the top on.....cause she was freezing with the back draft on her. Since I've put it, it's much more confortable and enjoiyable, even on the highway at 80 mph. Adamesh have great service at good price. Take minutes to install and stay in good shape.....

Yes it reduces the wind noise and buffeting and makes the climate system a bit more effective in maintaining comfort with the top down.

It's more then just a noise question. It's confort. Without windscrren, you feel a vibration in your ears that get enuyoing on long rides. With the windscreen in place, it's much more confortable. Plus, all what you carry on you back seats (!) stay in the car. It's a MUST for me.

Default Wind screen on my rear seat conversion.

The wind Screen on my rear seat conversion works really good and stops the buffeting as well . and takes care of my extra luggage space. B.L.

The Adamesh wind deflector has been thoroughly discussed in several old threads.

For a complete discussion of how to install the Adamesh wind deflector, including detailed close-up photos and installation tips, see my posts ## 2 and 4 from this 2011 thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...flector-62273/

No need to copy and paste all of those photos here - simply click on the above link.
