I'm looking for a shade for when the car is parked in the sun. One of those fold-out things that goes on the inside of the windscreen. Generic ones cost next to nothing but are all much too tall (and the mirror cut out is too small) so I am looking for a supplier that either has a specific one for the XK, or supplies custom-cut ones.

I could cut up a generic one to fit, I know. But that would be naff. I did come across a US supplier offering one on eBay, but the shipping cost was more than the screen itself.

 

Hello, I prefer a sun protection outside the car on (and not inside behind) the screen to keep the heat outside the car.

If inside is your choice: is the screen of an XF smaller? You could measure and try this:

I believe the XF windscreen is taller than the XK. I haven't considered the F-Type; it's possible that might fit I suppose.

So... I thought I couldn't find a shade less than 70cm high anywhere but then discovered the Halfords "medium" shade is only 60cm high. A mere £7 and it more or less fits straight in, held in place by the sun visors, no cutting required. Hurrah!

I just ordered one off of Ebay and got it delivered for $75. I looked for a long time to find it as I guess they are getting scarce these days. Just try searching part number c2p23639. Picked up mine from Land Leaping parts out of Portland, OR

It wants to sag in the middle behind the mirror, so some suction cups would have been nice - but for the money, I can't complain.

 

Indeed - and thanks for the part number. I did find one seller on eBay offering one but - like you - they were in the US and I'm in the UK. So, the shipping cost was more than the shade itself...

EDIT: Actually, I think that's the part number for a sun visor - i.e. the thing that folds down.
