My 2008 xk base conv has been demonstrating a strange behavior.
Upon initial startup (regardless of battery charge status, ie 12.2, 12.4, 12.6,) my w wipers will do a single sweep and then park. This does not occur after the first startup of a day, but it does almost 100% of the time every time the auto has been parked for over 12 hours.
I'm pretty certain it is not a battery condition issue. Has anyone else experienced this and maybe a possible solution please.

nope, cleaned constantly

maybe between sensor and glass?

Just a guess - dodgy connection in the wiper stalk ?

 

I don’t use the Auto function. Clearly the wipers are getting a signal from somewhere.
Can we narrow this down; and ensure that the wipers are turned off prior to shutdown?? Then see if this occurs again.

I just need more information WJ.

 

Will turn off 'auto' and report. BTW...today after posting I went to town and the wipers did NOT give the initial sweep.

Thinking about it now, when I leave my wipers on Auto they will do one sweep when I start my car. Normal operations maybe?
