Windscreen Wiper Issue
Hi there, I have a 2017 F-Pace 3.0L R Sport.
Every time I start the engine regardless of the weather my wipers turn on (one wipe only). It's annoying and prob not good for my wipers as it's often happens on a dry windscreen. This is a very recent occurrence and I can't figure out why this is happening. I have not changed anything and the wiper control is set to auto mode which is what I have always had it set too.
Can someone please offer any advice as to what they think the problem is and how to fix it. Thank you.

This is a typical symptom of a battery not fully charged - that is, not putting out full voltage. The various electronic modules in these new cars (of all makes) require full voltage all the time; when they do not get it, various, that is, random symptoms appear and the movement of the wipers on start-up is one of them. This can also be caused by faulty ground connections but that is unlikely in this case). If your car is not used on a daily basis, or is used only for short runs then the battery eventually runs down. The car will always start, so that does not confirm a fully charged battery.
