Yes, absolutely - The 1st car (XK) he starts out at his desk with "how will you be paying?" LOL We made an offer (after everyone finding out about the dash) and he just turned his computer monitor around and said "this is the price". We did try to grind on him beyond this point, but were stonewalled. He wouldn't budge one cent.

We dismissed the 2nd car right away since the cumulative need of tires, top and dash was too much to even address in an offer, besides it feeling a bit off/wrong while driving - and if anything we actually preferred the ride of the XK.

 

I think that you are much better off for "taking a walk". There are other XK verts to be found, probably in better condition at a similar price. Happy hunting!!
