Default Wrap or not to wrap that Is the question .

hey guys...So Iv had my 2007 XKR for almost two years for the most part Its been sitting In the garage for most of that time Its only got 29k on It 24k when I bought It . I just like riding my motorcycles more than I do driving cars , So the car wasn't being driven and I was loosing Interest In It , I thought maybe I should sell It to somebody that would get the most out of It , but when I look at It I think man what a cool looking car maybe If I got It wrapped In a different color Like the XKRS blue with a carbon fiber hood that might re awaken my enthusiasm for the car .
Have any of you guys had your jags wrapped ? If so Id love to see some pics .

One guy a few years ago wrapped his a bright neon green with black accents, that looked sharp.
Another guy a couple years ago went nuts and wrapped his a pixelated black/white camo. That looked...... unique. He then changed it to French Racing Blue.
If I went through the procedure and cost myself, it'd be something crazy, like neon yellow with black or something retina-burning.

Not a fan of the black wheels that you can't see.

I'd take a colour that stands out. Get some reactions, good and bad!:-)
The green looks mean.

As someone in love with all things bike I can offer my own thoughts (not answering the question you asked, sorry, can't help myself...I often question why I have my Jag):

1. changing the colour of your car isn't going to make it any more interesting to drive than your motorbike
2. If it owes you nothing it will actually earn you money over time just by sitting there (unlike your bikes probably)
3. It won't get any prettier with a new colour, and it will always be worth looking at (wheels are a personal choice of course )
4. One day you will find a journey that it does better than a bike - I know, hard to comprehend, but it will happen (mine is the long drive to Le Mans in France every year), then you will be glad you kept it (possibly)
5. This car was made by JLR - by owning it you will never suffer boredom or too much time on your hands from a maintenance and repair point of view, and the stuff you will learn about mechanics, electronics and human endurance will be life changing in the long run

I'd put it in the garage and just go out for another ride

You must have liked the colour when you bought the vehicle. If your preference is for riding motorcycles more than driving cars, a whimsical colour change is equally likely to become a transient enthusiasm.

Graham,

I noted that your observation also applies to women.
Traveling to St. Ives must have been a "transient enthusiasm", particularly with seven wives! How many were blondes, brunettes, or redeads?

I agree, the red jag with black top and black wheels just leaves you flat, there is nothing there that screams beauty. I myself like a little chrome, a lighter colored top and a better styled wheel design and color.
But the world offers you choices, so go with what you like, not what I like.

Indeed it does, but they cost a whole lot more to wrap.

Exactly. That's why the factory offered choices - spun aluminum or wood veneers, various exterior and interior colors, engines, etc. Different strokes for different folks. Appeal to more potential buyers and sell more cars.

And that's why wraps are popular. If you still enjoy the car but are tired of the color, it's much less expensive than a new paint job and is removable. Necessity is the mother of invention, and a new market was created.

I agree. I'd say if you are bored with the car but want to keep it, wrap it some color you like. Something unique to your taste that will give it life again. I thought about getting a wrap on mine as well. Then I get it waxed and fall in love with it again.

not enough information for the correct answer. If they are all going to St Ives =) 65, if they met in passing the answer would be the one man.
