Default X150 XKR 5.0sc - pedestrian crash sensor

Evening all

I have ordered a new sensor since the right side one is dead. In terms of fitting I have watched several guides and videos showing how to do this from the top but also a couple of things that say you can't do that on the XKR due to something else being in front of the rad meaning no space. Is this correct? If so what is the best easiest solution - from the bottom removing the undertray? I don't want to remove the whole bumper cover if I can avoid it.

Thanks!

Unfortunately you need to remove the bumper to change them on a 5.0 XKR.

You can also use SDD to permanently turn the warning off on the dash once and for all...

Thank you sir. I thought that might be the answer!!

Our of curiosity when do you see when you look up from underneath with undertray off? I understand when top access wouldn't be available but from underneath is a mystery. Workshop manual does of course say remove bumper.

Thanks again

The horizontal aux radiator is in the way of accessing anything inside the bumper, including the parking sensors.

Undertray off & you're presented with this. Left sensor can be seen but not accessed, right side is hidden completely.
