Greetings All... ( at least those of you interested in gathering somewhere fun. )
So I was thinking (a dangerous thing but I seem to be spending a lot of time on trans pacific flights and the entertainment is dire/mediocre/common/...)
How fun would it be to meet up, show off our cars and have a 'beverage'... stated purposely for those of you offended by the word 'drink'.
One of these trips back this summer I was thinking a mass deployment of XKs (ok, perhaps all versions of the xk, from the beginning) to an interesting place might be fun.
Thoughts?
I have no quarrel driving to Mount Washington? Manchester VT? Stowe? Finger Lakes(Watkins Glen used to be a DESTINATION) ? somewhere else?
And there are fun things to do at these places: Fly fishing? Falconing? LR challenge? Skeet shooting?... ok 1 car event: Slalom! (purposely stated for those of you who can only drive in a straight line) or Ralley? (purposely stated for those of you you have never used a map)
Or is this just idle banter and I should go back to the crap they call entertainment...
It's not "idle banter". It's wishful thinking, caused by prolonged exposure to extremely cold air and inability to drop the top.
lmao, again! There is one advantage, driving in this climate on a windy road separates the men from the boys.
Is that the best you’ve got? I would travel to your part of the world just to enjoy some go carting... but I’m not sure about navigating a place where every second road is named peach tree... or sitting on that parking lot you call an expressway...
editted: I did not pay attention to the details... it gets cold in Atlanta? You need to come to Ottawa for an education on cold.
I vote YES
I wouldn't mind the drive from the SE Corner of NY to any of those places you suggest. An XK, XKR only outing would be fun, mid Summer sunny day would be better. crossing an International Border Crossing might be a problem for some, but if they haven't figured out the Enhanced ID yet, maybe this idea will inspire them to figure it out.

Do you think that the South forgot the Civil War? Traffic is the revenge of Atlanta; retaliation against the invasion of the Yankees, and confuse 'em with all the Peachtrees! Do you know the best thing about New York City, particularly under Mayor de Blasio? It's being from there!
Traffic is the price of hanging up your snow shovel.
P.S. Peachtree Street was not named for peach trees. Originally, when Atlanta was called Terminus, it was called Pitch Tree Street because of all the pine trees that dropped their sticky sap everywhere. That epoxy-like sap is called pitch, and removing it was a bi ..., well, you know. But as the city grew and changed its name to Atlanta it also changed the name of that street to Peachtree, a more attractive and appealing choice.
What with the impending Virus, you kidding. I am just staying in my driveway might back it up 20' feet then slowly drive towards the garage but thats about it.
It Should be a group effort to put it together. And I’m not one to procrastinate.
I just threw the idea out there. For those up for it, if you have suggestions on location or dates, we are all ears.
If not I would welcome the opportunity to meet everyone who came out. And if could throw in some elective fun, great.
All the places I’ve listed, I’ve been to. But it’s a small planet and I’m always looking forward to new places and things.
Definitely interested here...I am in Toronto, but regularly get south of the boarder whether it be for car events or work, or both. If I am making a trip though, I'd probably bring my wife along, as I am sure others would, so maybe somewhere where there's something of moderate interest for the spousal units while the rest of us ogle the Jags....
Was expecting that. My list of suggestions should satisfy many.
Equinox Inn at Manchester VT is quite good. And the local venue fun.
Stowe is a typical tourist town,..
Mt Washington a little slower, again.
This may work out. What weekends in the summer suit most? Bare in mind that holiday weekends get busy.

Here is an idea: meeting at Jaguars on the Island ("JOTI"), in Victoria, British Columbia, the weekend of July 26 this year. This is annually *the largest Jaguar show in North America* -and for those who may not be familiar with it, Victoria is an international tourist destination; it is on beautiful Vancouver Island (which is not Vancouver). Cars always from the US (California, Washington, Oregon..) and from British Columbia, Alberta...

Great idea BUT a little far for us in the eastern North American neighborhood.
I would highly recommend a ride to Stowe VT in September and participate in the British Invasion British Classic Motorcar Show. Last year there was only about six X150's in the X100/X150 class. It would be great to see more. www.britishinvasion.com
Sounds good but if you ever been on it you'd be disappointed with two things......it is full of police and motorcycles.
But there are ton of other seldom used roads just as note worthy in that region of the US. Highlands Rd from Franklin NC through Georgia 28 comes to mind. Full of rising/falling twists & turns, waterfalls, and snobby shopping in Highlands itself.
