XK convertible squeaking rear suspension - RESOLVED
Having had a creaking / squeaking noise from the rear suspension for a while, I researched the forum for possible answers. The consensus seemed to replace the rear anti roll bay bushings which I did and whilst I was in there also replaced both drop links and complete lower arm(no play in the bushing but had split boots). The creaking has gone but the squeaking remains, so unbolted the bottom shock mounting and jacked up the lower arm - squeaking gone! Therefore the noise is isolated to the shock absorber (the lower bushing is in good condition).
Now my question to the collective knowledge of the forum is, do I replace the top mount of the shock absorber to eliminate the squeaking or is the spring isolator below this also a contributing factor to this annoying noise?
Some context I carry out all my own repairs and servicing on my drive (my garage isn't wide to work in) plus living in England means planning work between rain showers and also this car is my daily driver.

My 2007 XK Coupe had an infuriating creak/squeak from the right rear. It took a long time to track down the source. On mine it turned out to be upper wishbone RH bush sleeve. The bush was OK but the metal sleeve was dry and couldn't pivot smoothly on the fixing bolt. Removing the bolt - coating with Copaslip - refitting the bolt cured it.
From several threads on the topic, it seems any suspension bush could be the culprit with this symptom. Finding which it is can be the challenge.

I can't help pinpoint the problem for the OP, but I went with the complete rear suspension rebuild, because upon inspection, nearly all of my rubbers were shot. No squeaks or creaks back there now.
Thanks for the replies, I think the problem lies with the shock absorber due to the squeaking stops when the shock is unbolted at the bottom and the lower arm is compressed with a jack.
I have bought a top shock mounting part no. C2P23038 and plan to fit it this weekend and will report back with the results.
BTW the parts I replaced(lower arm, anti roll bar bushes and drop links are all S type fitment and fit perfectly at considerably lower cost than XK parts)

As promised removed the shock absorber and dismantled the spring and other hardware. The amount of rust on the bottom spring seat was extensive, so much so I had lever off the spring and seat with a pry bar.
Examination of the foam insert and top spring found these to be in good condition so I removed the rust and repainted the body and assembled the shock complete with new top mount and plenty of synthetic grease.
After fitting to the car took it out for a run - success! No more squeaking or creaking, in conclusion I think the rust build-up probably was the main cause of the noise, hopefully this helps other owners to pinpoint the possible cause of their squeaking suspension.

Best way is to push down on the rear end, verify there is a noise, then spray each bushing individually. Bounce the car after each spray and when the noise goes away, you'll have the culprit.
I was not able to re-create the sound with the shock off, because the load it puts on the suspension helps create the squeak - the shock was not the source of my noise.
