Default xk engine decarbonizer

I saw this episode of Wheeler Dealers. Has anyone had the Decarbonizer done to their car? Is it worth the money?

Is your engine 'carboned up'? If no, save your money.

I couldn't get your link to work, so maybe I'm not on the right path to your question. (Nor have you bothered to put your car info in your signature to help us help you.)

Most engines will not see heavy carbon build up unless they are maintained in poor condition, using poor quality fuels and such. Bad rings and seals can lead to rapid buildup as well.

For the pre 2010 engines, I dont think you will have issues that require anything more than a simple fuel additive once in a rare while, however post 2010 engines utilize Direct Cylinder Injection, and this technology is causing some major headaches for many brand name cars out there. Carbon buildup on the intakes is becoming a big problem, and owners have filed class actions suits against manufacturers over it (Audi RS4). So far as I have read, very few DCI engines seem exempt from the problem, but some manifest quicker than others.
Complete cleaning systems like those originally offered by BK44 (Clicky) are now common at most dealerships under various names.

As the post 2010 XK has brought no new technology to the table to prevent this problem, I suspect the 5.0l owners may need to at least stay alert to slowly dropping power levels and look for this as a possible culprit.
I know the Audi folks were seeing massive power loss, from 20 to 50HP before finding gummed up intake valves to be the problem.
