XK License Plate Bulbs - Bulbs Not Working
2010 XK. - License plate lights did not work. I did the trick of touching the two battery cables together for 20-seconds. - That Worked!!! - But... When I just took it to get it Inspected, it did not pass, because it had lost it's "Faults Codes" for emissions. They said I needed to drive it 150-miles and bring it back. - Question: Is there a way of getting those Codes back quicker? - Thanks.
That's about it.
In Utah where I am, it is allowable to have ONE not-ready light to pass emissions. That usually ends up being EVAP. Last time, my O2 sensors took like 60 miles to ready up, and EVAP was still yellow. Passed fine with that though cuz "one allowed".
Does Texas do that also, or do all need "Ready"?
Thank you for the follow-up.
Per the suggestions, I'll just need to put some miles on this.
I did read that one person did the same trick with the battery cables, but then the licences plates lights stopped working after awhile.
So, I just hope that the license plate lights still come on after the long drive, and the Fault Codes are there for the inspection.
Thank you again,
