I'm having an issue with my 2009 XK. Occasionally when raising my passenger side window, it comes up about about 4" the goes back down. Since I have owned it (1 year) it's made a noise at that point like it is skipping a tooth on the drive.
Each door window has an anti-trap safety feature. If the upward movement of the window detects an obstacle, the anti-trap detection system immediately stops the window closing and then moves it downwards for a short distance. The anti-trap protection also stops the window closing if a blockage or resistance occurs (e.g. in the window guide channels). Typically this might be due to icing in winter but can also be caused by damage or misalignment of the guide channels or seals. Check the channels are clear and the glass moves smoothly on opening or closing.
If it persists and you need to check if there is a problem with the motor (2) or regulator (1), the door card will have to be removed.

I will take a look at the track, hoping it is something simple as that
