XK/XKR topix info
Hi guys
I'm new in this section. Name's Nick, living in Moscow, Russia.
Used to work as a technical trainer in Jaguar LandRover Russia. Used to have a two XJ40, XJ8 X308 and now i'm a happy owner of a black XKR Coupe.
I have all information from Jaguar Topix - repair instruction, body repair instruction an so on.
I can filter it, so it will be covering XK 4.2, XKR 4.2, XK 5.0, XKR 5.0, XKR-S. Coupes and convertibles.
Does anybody needs it?

Welcome to the forums, Nick and thanks very much for the offer. While I do not have any need at the moment for those instructions, that may change in the future. Likely, others would be happy to take you up on the offer.
How is Moscow these days? Hope its not too cold there. The XKR must look rather impressive amongst the Ladas that I assume to be still many of in Russia?

Thanks so much, Albert As you can see, i've been around, mostly in X308 section, but now i'm here and i'm glad It was a dream, which have come true. XKR was a first Jaguar i've driven, while i was working in JLR and it was a love at first sight... I still remember that Jag - it was creamy white cabrio with a red roof... Wow, i was amazed
Moscow is fine, but the moscow traffic is heavy - lot's of jams
Ladas are still popular, but not it Moscow - mostly in a regions. Here in Moscow japanese and korean cars are a most common. A lot of BMW's, Mercedes and other premium (but not reliable, huh) cars are present too. Jags are kinda rare (XF and X351 XJ are an exception - they are more and more common). A very few XK's of both generations, even less X308... Well, there's a lot of X-types too, but i, personally, don't think that they are jaguars at all

Hi Nick,
Looking forward to your input. I am hopeing you can add some educated views. My first thoughts are what do you think about pulley upgrades and ECU upgrades. I have thought about it but not real sure after reading all the threads. P.S. I sent you a request to see some picks of your Jag in Moscow.
Thanks
Jim

Are we talking about pulley and ECU on a AJ-34s or AJ-133s cars?

Nick,
I have the 4.2 supercharger stock. I have been viewing threads and thought about using this company to do a Pully mod and ECU tune. I have heard that it will provide better response, gas millage and power with no harm to the car?
Jim
Hello Rick,
This is the first time I personally replied to a post, the forum is handled by someone else (Finding time to respond is very hard). I’m going to make it very brief (for a quicker response you can call 877-813-9700 x 5). I have been doing this now for 23 years and feel I can talk on the subject. The 470hp Jaguar has the same engine as 550hp XKR-S; the only difference is the software. You can find a dyno sheet on our blog where we got 66whp (76hp) before adaptation ‘with a stock pulley’ on a 470hp XJ, the dyno test was done by the customer. Recently we completed a F-Type for Lamborghini of Miami and when they tested the car the result was 618hp.
We released and installed the ECU/Pulley upgrade for the 5.0 supercharged engines back in 2009 (first car tuned was for Overfinch of NA). The car made great power with no issues and still drives perfectly until this day. We work on about 4 or 5 of these engines everyday including Range Rovers.
It’s always best to call the company tuning the car as oppose to hearsay. Again, it’s easier to reach me by phone.
Regards,
Jags

Well, on a 5.0SC engines there's a software limiter. A 4.2SC is a totally different engine, w/o such a limiter. You could install a pulley, it'll give some more hp even w/o ECU tune.
Actually a 4.2SC software is quite flexible, it handles even a twinscrew supercharger (on a X350 and X100) w/o reflashing.
Later, when i'll have some money for experiments (4-5 month later) i'll try to install a twinscrew on mine XKR. Based on experince of a guys in a X308/X350/X100 section it gives a huge gain of power.

sorry, guys, a little bit busy @work, but i'll do what i've promised this week.
Right now the copy of the topix is a huge amount of pdf files, which needs to be placed in correct folders, corresponding a model, generation and system index. It will be hard for all of you to find the info "as is", so i just want to sort the info.
