Default Is this a XK60?

I was browsing my local used car dealerships and ran into what they have listed as a 2007 XK Coupe Base but after looking at the pictures and seeing the square shaped exhaust I'm unsure if this is a modified Coupe or an actual XK60.

It has low mileage and is selling at an acceptable 15k. If this is a real XK60 I believe that's a bargain but I am not knowledgeable enough to confirm that it's the real deal.

I believe the XK60 was only offered in '08 and came with a number of other options besides the square tailpipes including Senta 20-in Wheels.

No it’s An early XK 4.2, 2006 MY. You can tell as it has the rear ariel. From 2007 onwards this was built into the rear spoiler. The xk60 was launched in 2008. https://www.testdriven.co.uk/new-jag...the-jaguar-xk/ So I think someone has retro fitted parts to make it look like an XK60

I hand not even noticed the rear ariel until you pointed it out. Yes, this confirms my suspicion that it is a retro fitted XK. Thanks for the help!

The VIN is showing in one of the photos: SAJAA43F475B09782. The forum VIN decoder tool gave no results, but popping this into the NHTSA VIN decoder (https://vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov/decoder/Decoder) gave
Suggested VIN: SAJ!A43!475B09782

Possible Values: (4: DFPWXY)(8: ABCHKL)

The error positions are indicated by ! in Suggested VIN. In the Possible values section, each pair of parenthesis indicate information about each error position in VIN . The Numeric value before the : indicates the position in error and the values after the : indicate the possible values that are allowed in this position Unused position(s): 4,8;

Manufacturer: JAGUAR LAND ROVER LIMITED

DBAs:

Vehicle Type: PASSENGER CAR

Model Year: 2007

Make: JAGUAR

Model: XK

Body Class: Coupe
So it is definitely a 2007. The 4th and 8th position that are wrong are possibly pertaining to a country specific model that isn't in the US database.

( Edited to insert a space between the ':' and the 'D' that the editor so helpfully changed to )

Thanks for pointing that out and yes this car is located in Panama City, Panama so it's most likely a Latin America specific model.

The fourth letter A in the VIN indicates RoW (Rest of the World) specification. The X150 VIN decoder is in Section 16 of the FAQ's:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...enance-227403/

In this era, the new Model Year was introduced in the second half (usually September) of the Calendar Year so a 2007MY could have been produced in the last months of 2006.

It seems the front undertray is also not present.

No, I mean under tray. The ground is visible through the lower grill.
OR, didn't these ones have those trays?

Ah, I see what you mean...perhaps someone mistakenly thought it would aid in cooling (really, I see people do this on forums).

But also it's missing what I posted in the pic, the XK60 front splitter/apron. The subject car has only the first gen XK bumper.

Default Great New Thread

I do all my own work. Except for Euro Bumpers,, my 77 S2 XJ6C will remain original, not because a Resto would not be fantastic, but sheer cost.

I’m just a little old man from San Diego. Although I played with the idea of pulley & tune, I’m gonna stick with the measly 510 HP. It gives me all the thrill I need.
