new Jr member here and trying to navigate my way around.
I have a 2012 XKR convertible and am uncertain if it has an E Diff or mechanical.
Vehicle has 100,000 KM and I want to change diff fluid
Need to know type of lubricant to use.

Brand doesn't mean anything, just quality and viscosity. Yes, all 2010+ XKRs have E-Diff.

Totally agree, quality / the correct lube is what you want for the E Diff.

For us new XK guys, what kind of differential does the XK have? Same rules apply for quantity/quality?

 

All except the 2010+ XKRs have an open differential. Yes.

 

For 4.2L XKR owners who wish they had a limited- slip differential, the aftermarket Quaife LSD is the only way to go. See this link and a big thanks to @flyc2c :
