Question XKR fuel mileage / range

I am. Onside ring a new XKR and would like to get some feedback on real-world fuel mileage and range on a full tank. I know what is stated but am wondering what people have been getting in practice. Even more important is how far. An the car be driven on a full tank

Thanks in advance
Joe

I see around 15 for city driving, and about 20 for the highway. I think it's a 16 gallon tank, so 300ish for a tank of fuel.

Thanks for the reply. That's pretty close to what is quoted as the mileage, so that's good to know. I have a 911S and that's about what I get - with much less HP so that's quite good. To me the range is what's important as I had an M5 one that would go about 180 miles before a warning.

14.3 through 4k miles - just reset it because my battery died - 300 miles later 15.3

This is most curious. My 05 XJR gets 27 on the highway (all day trip). I guess the super charger really pays off. Then again, maybe the XKs have a final gear ratio tuned toward performance to compensate for the lack of a super charger?

Can a super charger alone make a 7 mpg difference?

These numbers ARE for supercharged motors. Though mine is the 5.0L. I keep track of my mileage on Fuelly, so if anyone wants to peep, it's a public database. At the end of the day, if you keep the top up and stay at 60 you get to the 20 mark. If the tops down, you use that long, elongated pedal on the right, or want to listen to the soundtrack coming from the exhaust... it's going to be as low as 14 or 15. /chuckle

Interestingly enough this past week I have not driven the XKR (4.2S) on the highway at all. 12.3MPG. From the computer.

Oh highways I can get up to 25-26 though.

Good luck on your choice.

I've had my current XKR since April...

In the summer I got around 16.5 with the AC - I live in the South and the AC is a must in the heat of the summer.

Now I am getting around 17.8 without the AC.

On the HyWay, if I do not put the hammer down, I get around 24 mpg...that's just cruising.

I have about 20K miles on the car. I have the 4.2 Liter supercharged (XKR).
