XKR Fuse 19
Looking to locate and remove fuse 19 to open up the exhaust of my 2001 XKR. I removed the rear seat and found nothing but a huge metal plate. I then found a fuse box in the front right corner of the boot, but only has mainly fuses 5 and 20. No fuse #19 anywhere.
Any thoughts on where else to look?

Fuse 19 doesn't apply to your car. You stated that you have a 2001 XKR, which in Jaguar terminology is an X100. This is the X150 forum, which is for 2007 and newer XKs. I don't think the original XK8's/XKR's have anything equivalent of fuse 19.
IF so, and a 2013 XKR, the fuse panel is BETWEEN the rear seats, behind the pull-out-up center back section. There is a fuse block there, and I THINK fuse 19 is on the right side while looking at it? Not positive though.
The magic of Fuse 19 is a recurring and controversial subject - controversial only because of misunderstandings about the active exhaust and which cars it actually applies to and how it works.
Active exhausts are only found on the 4.2 and 5.0 X150 XKR models. On the 2006-2009 4.2 XKR pulling fuse 19 will put the active exhaust valves permanently in the open position. Normally, the valves will open up at around 4000rpm (and on initial start-up closing at around 1200rpm).
On the 2009-2014 5.0 XKR, using the Dynamic Mode option (the chequered flag button on the centre console by the drive selector) will achieve the same thing but will also stiffen the suspension and alter the gear changes to a more sporting setting - by pulling Fuse 19 on the 5.0 XKR, the exhaust valves will be opened without changing the suspension/gearbox settings which some people do not like.
This was fully debated here - https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...se-19-a-87400/
