Default Gasket Advice

Looking for gasket help and advice. I have a significant oil leak coming from the forward outboard area of the right side cam cover. 1956 XK140 MC (C-Type head). I will replace the cam cover gasket. Who makes / sells the best gasket? Cork? Synthetic? Should I use a high quality silicone gasket product in addition to the gasket? Any advice on the correct torque and tightening sequence? Thanks!!

I use the regular gasket that everyone carries. Make sure cover and head are flat and smooth with no flaws. I use a thin coat of Indian Head (shellac) on both sides of gasket. tighten with a 1/4 drive socket until snug. Basically 25-30 in/lbs. Usually can't overtighten with a 1/4 drive. My preference for 55 yrs.
