Question Problem Securing XK140 jack

New to the Forum. As the username suggests, I am not a full-fledged classic car hobbyist. I like them for the styling and the memories plus I enjoy driving them. My first new car was 1969 MGB GT, but it is long gone. Thirty plus years ago I acquired my other classic, currently being refurbished, a 1959 MGA 1600.

Last fall I purchased a numbers matching 1957 XK 140 OTS SE (according to the JDHT Certificate ... still not sure when it is a SE versus a MC).

While this car was recently refurbished, it did not come with a jack. A new jack recently purchased from Moss, will not remain secured in the jack clip (Part number BD3431) because of the jack’s round base. Page 431 of Jaguar XK140 Explored suggests that the jack base will extend slightly beyond the edge of the lid assembly (BD9372) when properly mounted in the clip and strapped down. However, secured in this manner, the overhang of the jack base binds against the tire well wall and prevents the lid from closing. Looking for a “concours” worthy solution. Thanks.
