Default Under Bonnet Blanket

Anyone know of an under-hood (bonnet) sound-deadening blanket or foam pad for the XK series? Looking for something to quiet down the engine noise a bit. Similar to the photo?

Thanks!

there is a guy in Michigan who sells the diamond style hood insulation shown in the picture, can't remember the business name. Search for "underhood insulation michigan".

Also the insulation and sound deadening pads in commercial à/c air handlers have the right thickness, 1/2" Inch. and are large enough to cut to fit.

Jaguar never glued the insulation to the hood, they are held in place by being "convex". i.e. held in place by brackets on either side and forced UP at the center then screwed or clipped at the center with a bar. At least the saloons are like that.

Default sound blocking curtains

You can use sound dampening blankets, theyare usually suspended on a roof deck, with or without roof curtain. With roof curtain, the acoustic performance is much better. Without it, you got better visibility and ventilation which does good to temperature reduction. After all, some noisy machines or equipments also generate lots of heat.
