I came across these a few days ago on UK eBay and thought I would give them a try. They look cleaner and more modern than the 'white' lenses I fitted when I got the car, and match the fog lights better.

The seller had two pairs for sale, but now seems to have discontinued them. I have contacted him to see if he has any more, and whether he can also provide the indicator lenses in the same style.

When I was trying to find a smoke colored lenses I ran across these and i am pretty sure the seller has then in clear as well. Might be a good match for your new style.

Not that I expect this to happen (well maybe I do ).....but...... just make sure they are sealed up well, these type of reflectors were about a few years back and were quite expensive around £300 for the set, what use to happen is they got water inside them and they would turn green with algae...

They took looking after and your average owner was not into removing their reflectors every so often to clean them out.... Some how I dont think Frog will find that a problem

 

Hey, thanks for the heads-up. There appear to be two or three different models available on eBay, so I ordered what I thought looked the most OE/expensive ones:

 

Lol. Yes, I forgot to mention that they are designed to hold a bulb (supplied, but I didn't fit them). I sealed up the bulb hole with a solid tap (fawcet) washer and then sealed that with silicon and then some electrical tape on top of that.

[anal_mode] I also put a round disc of white electrical tape on the inside of the rubber washer, so that from the outside looking through the lens it looks a bit like a SilverVision bulb rather than a black blob [/anal_mode]

I won them on eBay for £26.

I use THESE people for the side repeater and then fit a chrome bezel, these repeater are not meant for Jaguar XKs, they fit S Types but they have a recess for the repeater to sit into, XKs are meant to sit flush, but as these crystal clear type have a chamfer and basically... looks crap IMO.... But with a bezel... that looks good!


I have even colour coded them to the car before, that also works well.

 

Yes, I think I will have to do a bit of fettling to get them to fit. Where do you source the chrome bezels? Don't tell me you make them yourself

You should have front and sides done matching kit-style (including bezels for the rears). I'd buy a set. Those would look great on my black XKR!

LOL maybe I will move one day ..... I can supply them but I get them from Geoff at Adamesh, I beleive he does do them for the side markers too? Not 100% on that one

Dont forget to use chromatic bulbs, no fried eggs!!!

 

I meant a kit with matching fronts and sides, and chrome bezels for fronts, sides and the rears...

 

The eBay seller I ordered them from has cancelled my order, because they are out of stock. I will probably leave it now, however, as you say they don't fit the XK8 properly...

 

That would be a little too much bling for me (now isn't that saying something lol), it would be like the guys that go mad with the stick on stuff you get on a reel




They do fit, they just have a chamfered back and do not sit as nicely to the bodywork as the originals, hence the use of the bezel.
