Default 00 vs 05 differences

As far i could see the exterior differences is the front bumper, side sills, taillights and wheels. Now what is the difference in the rear bumper and boot between these models?

What is the type of bulb of the headlight to buy the correct HID kit for the car?

I'm not really sure what you are asking here. What car do you have?

4.2l engine plus an extra gear in the tranny.

Also in the 05 you have the separate headrest not the integrated.

I think the 05 is made with much more aluminum

I have a 2000 XKR. I'm only asking about exterior differences because it is common to XKR owners update it to the 2005 look, like front bumper, side sills, tailights and quad exhaust tips. I read also that they upgrad the boot spoiler and rear lower bumper, but from the pics that i've seen of both cars and i can't see the difference between 00 and 05... Can someone enlight me?

There is a difference in the rear bumper

Here is my 2000 XK8:

Here is Matt's (H2Oboy) 2003 XK8:

Visually they look pretty close (Matt has the adaptive cruise by the looks of it) but it seems 2003+ all have some sort of removable cover above the tow hook location while I have a fixed tow hook. I'm not sure if this is the only difference or if the later bumpers come down some.

EDIT: I just realized you were talking XKR rather than XK8. I'd guess the differences are similar. I think the later XKRs also had quad exhaust tips, so the openings would be a bit wider.

Thanks for the pics, but i had already figured out the differences for the XKR. The 05 rear bumper is a bit wider and goes a bit lower in the sides and rear bottom and has wider exhaust cuts. The sides of the bumper is lower to acomplish the lower line with the side sills. The rear bottom is lower to cover better the spare wheel and that is why it needs the removable cover to expose the tow hook location.

Kwestra
The four sensors on the rear bumper is the backup sensor, I think the adaptive cruise would be on the front it slows the car down when you get to close to the car in front. I don't know why Matts bumper is so high my 2001 looks just like it but you can't see the tow hook hole.

By boot you mean trunk, right?
