My son's 01 xkr would crank but not start yesterday morning. It displayed a high trans temp message (car was cold). After cycling the key a few times it finally lit off. I read a few posts regarding the trans Conductor Plate, but none suggested it would affect starting. Ideas?

 

More likely the battery is weak. Stop at a Autozone or other store and have them load test the battery. If the voltage drops too far when cranking the ECM will not fire the coils and strange codes appear.
