Squeaky arm rest

When I performed this upgrade: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...rinkled-45024/ I rubbed a trace of synthetic brake grease on all the leather/plastic contact areas. It has not squeaked since.

This worked out well Steve, thanks for the suggestion. I had not realized that the noisy armrest wasn't the armrest at all. Where the cup holder assy. mounts within its' home at the front of the armrest, the arm rest will flex a bit with any little movement or weight (from an arm). The flexing causes the plastic of the cup holder assy. to rub against the plastic and leather of the arm rest, making the squeaking/creaking noises.
The most expeditious repair process is to remove the arm rest from the car (WhiteXKR gave a link to his directions above - quite simple really) and remove the bottom cover of the arm rest, then unscrew the cup holder latch (one Torx from the bottom), remove the latch, then maneuver the cup holder out. I am not entirely sure what WhiteXKR used, he said synthetic brake grease, which I assume is the same as anti-seize anti-squeal compound or grease I use on my brake parts like the slide pins and pad-backs etc. Anyhow, that's what I used. I applied a little wherever it looked like the cup holder a assy. and armrest were touching. I also applied it on the cup holder assy. everywhere there are moving plastic parts, such as the gears, the spring mounts, hinges, etc, anything that moves. I reinstalled the cup holder, replaced the bottom cover, and all is perfectly quiet.
I can't thank you enough Steve, you are always helpful!
BTW, still looking forward to your power steering adjustment product
