Hello everyone, hoping you can help out with a question?

I am in the process of finally moving forward with my 06 coupe restoration project and I am stuck on finding a Drivers xenon headlight assembly. The cheapest one currently available is over $800 shipped. While not completely unreasonable, that's still more than liked.

So the question, I have found an 01 XKR parts car available. Is is possible that it came with xenons as standard or an option? The preference is standard as that takes some of the question out of it.

I ask as the seller has been a bit flakey, doesn't want to pull it to check (until he sees cash which is valid given the fiddly nature of it) and the car is a fair drive away. The drive is worth it for the price but not if they are the standard halogen units.

I only know North American Jaguars but I don't remember performing a PDI or working on an X100 with HID headlamps until the 2003MY (4.2 liter) when I worked at the dealer back then.

 

Motorcar, appreciate the reply. USDM is my market as well so that where the hope came from. If 03 is the breakover, I'll start looking there.

Quick question, my assumption is that the obvious tell without seeing the bottom or back of the unit is the black interior on the lens, correct? I have only seen ones with the silver interior after its been swapped for repair.

 

As far as I know, the HID were standard in the 4.2 XKR (2003 and up), but optional in the 4.0 cars. Now what exactly is wrong with your coupe's headlights?

 

The North American JEPC for cars to> VIN A30644 shows HEADLAMP ASSY., EXCEPT HEADLAMP LEVELING.

Powerwash and EXCEPT powerwash are the only options available.

HEADLAMP ASSY - H.I.D. is only available FROM VIN A30645> as an option.

 

@giandanielxk8 @motorcarman Thank you both for the assist on this! To answer the question on whats wrong, minor fender bender damaged the black plastic rear assembly to a point that it's not repairable. I've been searching for either a parts unit that I can swap the working pieces into or a complete unit that saves that hassle.
