0442 On 2004 XKR
My car is throwing a consistent 0442 (small EEC leak). I have replaced the fuel filler cap with a new OEM replacement with no joy. The dealer ran a smoke test and claimed not to find any obvious leaks. Does anyone have some ideas on where to look? One other potentially pertinent bit of information is that I got a pretty strong fuel smell for a short time while driving the car hard - twisty, hilly roads with lots of acceleration and braking. Seemed like something purged a bit of fuel during the drive. It only happened once and has mot recurred, but then I haven't been driving the car as spiritedly.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Fuel smell often indicates the purge valve located behind the left front wheel. Mine had that AND a bad canister valve (rear of car), AND a cracked RH side canister AND a flat o-ring on the LH side canister.
