05-06 xk8 front bumper cover on my 97 xk8
Just got done putting the last of 3 coats of the base color on. I will be spraying the clear coat in the morning with the flex additive in it. The bumper will also get 3 good coats of clear. The bumper will have to sit for a week and then I will color sand it and buff it out. Then it will be time to put it on the car. I will post pictures every step of the way.
Just got done with the last coat of clear. Overall I'm happy with the way it is turning out. I do think the color is alittle dark. I will have to get it outside in the sun to see. It still needs to be sanded and buffed but it does look nice. I did get a few run's in the clear but I will sand those out. Getting close to putting it all back together. More to come............
Well that's it........The bumper cover has been wet sanded and buffed. Looks nice and is ready to bolt on. I will show step by step on how the cover goes on. Very easy to do. I think the total time will be less than 20 min. May be I will do a video of it.
Back when I used to ride snowmobiles alot I called it "WHITE GOLD" but now it's just a pain in the a**. I've lived in MN all my life and I ask my self why everytime it snow's or the temp goes to 30 deg. below zero.
The paint matches ok. It would be better to have a full blown paint shop where you paint but for what I have it looks good. The paint is a bit dark and the metal flake is a little bit big. I can see it in a low light area but out in the sun light it is a perfect match. I'm happy with it but it could of been better.
