Default 12+ reverse trigger source at dash ???

Wiring a reverse camera and I need a 12V+ power source triggered in the dash area when the reverse lights come on to trigger the in mirror monitor.

I've searched the electrical diagrams and can't find one, everything is in the trunk.

Does anyone know if there is a 12+ power source anywhere either in the console or dash area of an 03 XK8 that is only hot when the car is in reverse?

Can you get to the Reverse indicator LED on the gear selector?

I ended up running a wire to the tail lights. It was a pain, but I am pleased with the results......Mike

Didbit, was thinking about that but not sure what load that source would handle, maybe add a small relay.

Mike, that's my last option!

You would definitely need a relay as the lights are just LEDs. Another idea is to re-purpose one of the spare cables in the boot area - either the ones for the accessory connector or the transit isolation device.

On my car I just ran a cable from the boot, behind the back seat and got to the dashboard that way.

Though of that also, I'm removing my NAV to put in triple gauges so should be able to find a spare wire from the trunk to the dash in the display hardness.
