I live 60 miles north of you and both my kids live in the city, I will not drive my Jag down to visit them, I usually take my Jeep, much better at the road battles down there so I feel you pain.

People who haven't driven in places like NYC (or Detroit etc) don't know what bad paving really is!

I had a friend in NYC buy a brand-new car and within the first year its suspension was totally shot.

Well I just got back from vacation...Before I left I hit a pothole in Manhattan in my 2004 xjr with the 20" Sepangs and well.....I BENT ONE! So Im STILL THINKING 20's are out. Anyone ever have one fixed? I have the stainless trim rings so Im unsure how they can fix it. Its a small bend and still holds air. ANYWAYS Ill be looking for the rims soon

I have Detroit 20's on my XKR. My last trip was 325 miles and they road fine after I got rid of the original Perelli P0's that felt like they were square on the road. Tire age seems to make a big difference. I installed new Coninental Extreme Contacts and it made a world of difference. I stay off the Cow Paths because of the low sidewalls.

I just bought another car that rides rough. The tread is 80 percent but I found the tires are 9 years old and stiff. Those will go next.

I now find myself leaning toward the coventry whitleys. I really want to get the ideal width and tire size. Currently throwing a new transmission in with the blue top solenoids so fitment at my local shop will have to wait...That plus 24" of snow that will be coming...No dice.

Can anyone tell me if a set of 21" wheels will fit my XKR, even when it has been lowered by 35mm with H&R springs? The problem is that the wheels I want only come in 21 or 22 inches -

Wow, those would be some short sidewalls. Not sure if they would fit, but here in Connecticut, it would be a no go with the ever expanding network of potholes.
