You may have a battery problem or maybe the window position memory has just been lost.
Because of the high current requirements of the window motor it can draw the battery voltage on a failing battery below the threshold of reliable module operation.
First, try to reset the window memory with the engine running. Press the 'up' button until the window reaches the top and hold it until you hear a 'click'. Lower the window and hold it until you hear a click.
If that doesn't work have the battery load tested at an auto parts store.

Sorry about so many questions. This Jag belongs to a friend and she is learning. Can you tell me if there is more than one Cig. lighter port on this Jag. It appears the one she knows about is broken and will have to be replaced. She is on a trip and can't keep her phone or Garmin charged. Thanks.
