Chad, Has the car started since you changed the ECU out. These cars are very funny about matching up numbers on any electrical parts. Are you getting any spark and is the fuel pump running. You sound very well versed on cars, but these cats are a different animal.

yea i work on cars for a living and own my own shop.. but when it comes to the cat shes had me stumpped more times than once.lol.. it hasnt started since i put the new ecu in. i started it 3 weeks ago to put it in my impound yard so it wasnt just sitting out in the open and when i went back to it last week battery still held 12 volts turned key to let the system analysis and got a engine fault/ transmission fault took the key out took the 4 bolts off the top of ecu and tcm box took ecu out and a good amount of water came out of ecu come to find out the hose was off to the drain for front windshield, which is the only way i can think that this much water got into the ecu in the 1st place.
i have fuel... havent checked for spark which i should have when i pulled coil packs just put in brand new bosch iridum plugs today. i have a whole xk8 coupe parts car i bought last year because my transmission went bad.
thank you for your time as well

It may be the battery. If it reads less than 12.4 that may be a problem, and if it gets much under 11 while cranking the ECM will not allow power to the coils.
Changing out the ECM for an exact match, including the /xxx code ie LJA1410 AK/010 might work, but still may require a refresh from factory software.

ecu was rebuilt 4/18/14 if that helps any
i have my existing ecu but where the water got on the board is pretty bad tried cleaning it up with electronics cleaner but had no luck? so you think i should try another ecu?

Another thought. You might want to send your original ECM to ASI and have them test it for $55 or so. Those early ECM's are worth several hundred and shouldn't just be thrown away.

Good. If yours can be repaired and the donor car doesn't have traction control I might be interested.

I doubt if they can rebuild it, but the charge is usually under $400, and the test is included.
i have other parts as well fenders hood throttle body ac compressor powersteering pump bunch of coils 17 inch aftermarket rims with brand new bridgestone tires abs module i have the whole parts car just sitting there. most of the electronic parts are stored in boxes in my shop
