Im trying to remove the neutal safety switch. I located the switch on the trany but i cant seem to find where its pluged into. The wire goes to the top of the trany and feels like its straped or bolted to the top of the trany. Cant find where its pluged into to remove the switch. any help with a pic would be great. its a 1997 xk8 US left driver.

It's mounted on the top of the bellhousing, under the throttle body. See this post from stevepaa:

It's the one on the right in his pic. Note the wire colours differ from '97 diagram

Thank you .. I see its behind some large connector. Have to remove the connector to get to the clip. Would you know if the wire is cliped to the tranmission?

I'm not sure, sorry.
There is a plastic ducting running across under the scuttle which the loom appears to enter.
I'd take the TB off as it's only 4 bolts and a gasket. Should save you some grazed knuckles.

I removed the large plug. Looks like the connector is the black one to the left. Looks like its going onto a plastic box but dont see anyway to ope the box to pull the plug down and out. Any ideas?

Hi - my bad - I got the wrong half of the connector. It's the bottom that connects to the rotary switch.
I've attached the JTIS procedure, which also shows the location of two harness clips on the transmission.
