1997 XK8 Radio Problem
Radio locks up and none of the controls respond, sometimes after a new engine start every thing is fine. Just this week radio has not responded to at least 8 restarts, power light comes on and station ID shows in display.
I just pulled the fuse in hopes of a reset, but when I put the fuse back in the radio is dead, no power light and display is blank, rechecked fuse and it's OK.
Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like your head unit might have developed an intermittent. If you are handy with a soldering iron you can open it up and look for broken traces or solder joints, especially arounfd the connectors. Also clean the internal connectors with contact cleaner.
If you are not so inclined, they appear on ebay used from time to time, and there are still a small number of car radio repair shops around in some cities.

Alpine Radio Repair
If you want to have the radio repaired it will cost $135- and the turn around time with my radio was 1 day. I would recommend them to everyone.
