Default 1998 XK8 front bushings and ball joints

Hello,
I recently replaced all the front bushings and ball joints.
Just wanted to share the experience. In the JTIS it suggests buying a new lower arm to replace the ball joint, horse hockey!. After some modest searching I came across British Parts Online. I bought the ball joint kit (includes upper and lowers) and the bushing kit (8 bushings).
Free shipping to Canada.
I tried to remove the wishbone arms myself but quickly ran into trouble. The upper bushing sleeve was seized on the bolt and there was no way I could crack the lower ball joint with the tools I have. I took the Jag to a local shop I trust (they let me work with their mechanic which is nice) and I paid for the shop time. They have ball joint removers and a big press. It all went well after struggling with the seized bushing sleeve and one sticky lower ball joint. What an amazing difference in the handling of a car that has 279,000km on her.
Here are the links to the kits:

.
FYI - my total cost all in was $770 CDN - quoted $2200 from a Jag Dealer

Hope this helps someone someday

Those are great prices for Poly Bushings. I'm loving the Brexit already.

I had the front end kit from Britparts back in November, by June both bottom ball joint boots had perished along with the boots on the drop links. Strangely the top joints were unaffected. I complained and got replacements but not much good if they go the same way in a few months

Thanks phanc60844
I will keep an eye on mine.
I will be watching the bushings too. Never hurts to keep an eye on these things.

All my "BritishParts" bushes and ball joints failed within 2 years and had to be replaced, a real pita.

nothing to report on wear and tear as we have only put 1100km on the car since the repair
I would appreciate it if others would post how many miles/km they got before parts fail and perhaps driving style
I am not aggressive in corners or launches so I am hoping mine last a long time
Should others have comments on the British Parts kits that would be most welcome as well.
Thanks to all who participate on the this forum

Upper ball joint from British parts.

This creak got worse and turned out to be the lower ball joint from British parts.

The lower arm bushes also disintegrated.
