1999 xk8 ASC warning
Hey guys,
ktm scott here in San Antonio. Ever since I’ve owned this xk8(5000) miles(125000 total) I get automatic stability control warning about every 45 seconds! Doesn’t effect performance, no codes , just a warning and a yellow light. I clear iT on The dash button and turn off ASC at the switch but it comes back insesantly. What is it and is there a known fix?
driving me crazy in San Antonio. Car runs perfect but for that?

Check ALL the tires and wheels for SIZE.
Could be a faulty wheel speed sensor but that would flag a hard fault in the module.
I had an XKR show up at the dealer for a similar fault. I finally realized that someone did a 'rotate and balance' and put the 255/50 in the front and the 245/50 in the back.
The ASC 'thought' the rear wheels were 'slipping' because they turned a 'little' faster than the fronts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All my wheels are the same size. Finally I am back to normal after a thorough MAS cleaning but...
the ASC fail is always on from the second I turn the key it is on. I can clear on dash then I only have the amber light on when driving. I even have the ASC button turned off but the ASC fail is immediately when I turn key so using the ASC button to turn off accomplishes nothing???? Any ideas to get rid of the signal?
I read some where on the site that you can open up the corner of the brake module and solder a connection to fix??
any ideas ?thanks in advance.
