If you have got a drain plug in the torque converter and your oil is that bad, I would definitely drain it as there will be another 2 litres or so of old fluid in there. The alternative is to use the car for a few weeks and then do the job again. I have done this repeat drain and refill on a couple of occasions but only because I have never had a TC drain.

I do the same thing. After 3 or 4 sessions the percentage of old ATF is relatively small.

Maybe not the most elegant way to switch out the old ATF, but effective enough.

Gave up on the torque converter drain plug this morning. I need to tap out one of the pan bolts. Does anyone know the thread size? Looks like m6 x1.25 but not completely sure.

I can't remember offhand but I'm sure it won't be as large as 1.25. Probably 1.0.

EDIT - Just checked and the last set I bought were for an X150 ZF gearbox and they were M6 x 1.0. I'm sure that the X100 is the same.
