Default 2000 xk8 headlight switch replacement

Just got a 2000 xk8. While driving at night the dash lights and headlights flicker. Standing still there are no issues. I'm assuming a bad headlight switch. Am I assuming correctly? I'm looking for switch removal instructions. Been searching but could not find any. Any help. Thanks

Flickering obviously sounds like a loose connection in the circuit. Can you reproduce the symptoms by wiggling the stalk or associated wiring? I wouldn’t replace the stalk switch without further investigation and research.

You probably making the correct assumption. A little solder might do the trick. ^^ try wiggling the stalk. I did this once, but I don't recall too much about it. This is from the X308 forum, but it might help -

Do you have to remove the steering wheel to pull the switch out?

Possibly will need to but one can tell after one removes the U&L Cowls. There are directions in my posts regarding the R&I Column Drive Cable and R&I the steering angle sensor SAS. Also, remember a Pozi Drive not Phillips screwdriver.

No, you don't. Just the cowling around the switches.
