2000 xkr bremo or not bremo

On a 2000 xkr was bremo brakes and rotors standard as part of the "r" option.
Or was it an option on top of the "r" option.
I don't think my "r" has them but i'm still curious why not????

Brembo brakes

Brembo brakes were not available until 2001 & then only the Silverstone, in 2002 on the XKR-100. In model year 2003 you could order them as an option. I have listed as set of Brembo calipers in the classified section that will bolt straight on to your car. It does make quite a difference.

If I remember for the front you need to replace the front dust shields & brake hoses only. This is assuming you have the radial mount Silverstone calipers, these have the word Jaguar in red on the caliper. If not you will have to have the caliper mount holes tapped out. I had that set up on my car & it is a true bolt on setup. The rears you need to modify the rear dust shields, just trim off the lip, otherwise again a straight bolt on. You also need the new braided brake hoses for the rear as well. Hope this helps.
