Default 2000 XKR Wipers

Hi there,

Well we love the car but there seems to be something going on with the windshield wipers.

They just come on randomly without ever touching a button or anything.

Today I was out, top down beautiful sunny day here in Vancouver, B.C. and a 3 times the wipers just cycled once or twice and then stopped again.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,

Mark

i get some random wipes from mine, when the AUTO sensing is turned on. If you don't want surprises, just turn them to OFF, and use them in auto only during rain events, that way, they speed up and slow down keeping up with the actual intensity.

Probably just a very sensitive system that we have.

I agree with Matt, probably the auto sensing wipers. I think they are a rather neat feature…that never works that well.

Yeah, I guess I will just leave it off until it rains anyway. I just get in the habit of using auto features when they work.

Unfortunately that also breeds bad habits like my auto headlights in my Escalade but when I get in a car without the auto lights feature now too often I either forget to turn them on and wonder why it is so dark or forget to turn them off and drain the battery.

Cheers,

Mark

Thanks for the info H2O - I knew they would come on automatically, but I didn't know they changed speed with the degree of rain. If I noticed, I would have thought I was probably imaging it! DalkD
