Default 2001 XK8 Vert valve cover gasket vs Lincoln L/S

Hi,
There is a p/n out for 1998 xk8 vs Ford p/n just wanted to confirm which one interfaces with my 2001? Is it the 026 or 027 block?

You have the AJ27 and the Lincoln gaskets fit. BTW, the spark plug valve cover seals are one of the more common leak areas, so do not neglect replacing those.

Ok you have me convinced to put in a set of metal secondary tensioners but what about the primary ones? I haven't heard as much about them.

That is a more elective call.

The plastic primaries and the chain guides do crack with age. Generally as they fail, you will hear some significant engine noise, and they will not cause catasrophic engine damage. Changing out the primaries and guides is also a significantly more involved job.

Your car has moderately high mileage, but evidence is that it was particularly well cared for.

If you want to come as close as possible to assuring a long term trouble free engine, then change them. Otherwise, just leave the primaries and guides as is and service them in the future if you hear engine clatter.
