2001 XKR Convertible top latch positive lock query. .
Searching for a temporary 'fix' to avoid joining The "Green Shower" Club on a forthcoming Southern extended road trip away from TX home base.
Mechanism working properly. (pressure reduction valve recently fitted.)
Original hoses most probably still in place-30,000 miles on the clock.
As it is not intended to lower the top until return, would it be OK to disconnect the electric and/or the hydraulic pump connections.
In other words----does the top latch require hydraulic pressure to keep it in the safe/locked position while driving at speed?

It is not necessary to disconnect anything...if you are not actually operating the top, the system will not be pressurized, and the probablilty of a leak will be very low. Disconnection will not change anything under this circumstance.
