I’m finally getting ready to do the 4.2 swap in my 2001 xkr. I was thinking of having a set of exhaust manifolds ceramic coating and lightly ported before swap. So my question is what years will work? Will the xjr manifolds work? They all look pretty similar for the 4.0 and 4.2 engine sim the x100 xkr’s and the early xjr’s with 4.0. Maybe some years don’t have egr? Anyway any help would be appreciated. Would save me down time.

4.2 swap? Is it easy to do considering there's engine management issues?

 

Relatively being I had a 4.2 xkr engine to begin with. Programming isn’t the issue so
much as that the 4.0 Intercoolers don’t fit. That’s why I waited to find an x100 xkr specific 4.2 engine.
