Default 2001 XKR knock sensor fix (maybe)

Hi Everyone, new member and have been doing too much searching the last week for some of the problems with MY new purchase.
Have been trying to eliminate causes for knock sensor code for bank one high output for knock sensor. Tried all connections. All clean and tight. As you know you can't get to the sensors without a sc removal. My ohm meter showed 201 on both sensors when cold. Cleared code and started engine. After full warm up in garage without driving restricted performance came up as usual. I've been struggling with this since purchase 2 weeks now. As a last result I took a long screw driver and small light hammer and tapped the nut that holds down the donut looking sensor. Did not hit the plastic donut, just the edge of the nut 3 light taps. Within 5 seconds saw the yellow light and the message restricted performance flashing and then disappear. Took the car for a drive and no more code and no more restricted mode. For 2 weeks have not been able to go over 3000rpms and now winds up to full throttle shift points without hesitation.
I know it is in the sensor now and it will probably rear it's ugly head again. I've read that there maybe corrosion under the sensor. But maybe it's just inside the sensor and I have borrowed time.
BTW, I never did an ohm reading after light came on when warmed up. I suspect the reading went south.

Onto my next fix. As soon as she hit 5or 6 grand the gas cap loose message showed up. That's a new one!

There will be no easy fix for the knock sensor on passenger side of a supercharged XKR. If I tap on the knock sensor after the engine is warm I can drive it without restricted performance. If I start the car cold and drive, restricted mode shows up. Definitely a hot and cold cycle electrical problem with sensor.

If I were you, I’d bite the bullet, buy the knock sensor and change the valley hoses while you’re there. Although, there’s a lot of stuff I would change because it’s there.

II vote on the bottom where it ground is loosing connection when cold. If you can get the nut to turn a couple of flats or so and spray carb cleaner through a tube on that area, you might clean it up enough to get some drive cycles out of it.
I've not worked on a SC one, so not sure of the area or room available.
Nice looking car and hope you get it sortyed.

Got to keep tapping on it to get some good Cycles out of it when warm. Seems to be holding up to drive it correctly
