Question 2001Coupe - Passenger door window

I have just become the owner of a 2001 XK8 Coupe and so far very pleased with it. However, there is a niggling issue with the passenger door window. Every time the door handle is operated by the passenger, the window drops about 2-3 inches, if the door handle is continued to operate it drops further. The window does not close when the door is shut and requires closing by operating one of the normal switches. Any ideas?

Some times you have to cycle the window a couple times and do it with the door closed.

Welaome to the forum gelair,

There's upper an lower limit switches for the door windows. They must be reset using this procedure whenever the battery has been disconnected.

This 'drop' behaviour is often an early warning of a failing battery. Battery condition is critical on these vehicles and a failing one can lead to many weird electrical faults.
