Default 2002 XKR-100 rear ride height

I have a 2002 XKR-100, I had a problem with the differential, I purchased a used unit complete with everything from wheel to wheel. My mechanic removed the old set up and replaced it with the 2nd hand unit, when he was finished the rear ride height was too high. Thinking that it was the replacement springs and shocks, I had him put back the original springs and shocks, leaving just the new differential, the ride height is still too high. Any ideas? anybody? I've been told I have adaptive shocks, are they adjustable?

The car sat pretty level before the work, now the rear wheel arch is about 4" above the rear tire...Thanks for your reply

Thank you for your help, I just checked the measurement and it's about right, the shocks appear to be settling down with use. I'm feeling relieved !
