Default 2002 xkr

I have a 2002 xkr and had someone tell me its special. In that it was one of only 250 built that had the mercedes transmission and was at the time the fastest production car made. Can someone confirm that or tell me where to go to find out if this is correct or perhaps have more information on the car. Thanks, Mark

ALL 4.0 XKRs have a 722.6 Mercedes gearbox (as do the XJR 4.0 sedans) but I don't know about production numbers.

Who exactly is telling you ? Your car is likely no more rare than my ‘02 XKR coupe.

Realistically , whatever rarity these cars have doesn’t affect their value. So drive your car and enjoy it. Letting it sit unused is a real buzz-kill.

Marke906,
It is possible that you have an 'XKR 100'. It should have markings.
If it is a Convertible, then only 250 were made LHD for the NA market.
If it is a Coupe, then it is really rare, as only 30 were LHD and went to NA. The other 220 remained in the UK. See Production numbers below.
