No, and hopefully there will be 20+ years before I need it. But I am seeing the TV commercials for it..

Hi Guys,

It's been a while.
1) I think the trim pulling away from glass is heat related as mine actually got better, making effort to keep out of sun. It is now back to where it just lets loose of the weather strip when I hit it with the car wash nozzle. This pull-away is cosmetic and does not affect sealing of the car. Mine is now probably below cost/benefit ratio for new part solution but very tempted as I need to have driver door aligned (starting to sag a little) with door low and trim strip curled a little, they mist by about 1/8"..no good.

With respect to handle to assist entry/exit, if you have a coupe, we can probably find a flush handle kit that swings to flush condition. If no one has an automotive part solution, there should be quite a few available for road cases - think rock and roll tours. See Calzone Case Company | Custom Calzone Flight, ATA, Road, Rackmount Cases and more » Monitor and Display look at handle at end of case. Not elegant but practical. I would look around at high end SUV for a nicer looking off the shelf solution of this type. These are spring loaded to keep them in place when not needed.

Hope this helps,
Steven

I wonder what the construction is like under the head liner and if would allow drilling and bolting on a handle?

In regards to the trim. My understanding is that water does not drain and some have rust damage.

Mine's is that way too.... I am glad it's cosmetic not effecting sealing...although one of these days I would like to fix it once I know how.

That's what mine looks like.

I am having headliner issues and looked above door, above headliner shell.
After looking, not optimistic about mounting a handle there to anything substantial without ending up banging your head on it.
The "Car Cane" looks like it might be best option.
Investment is pretty low if it works.

Kind Regards,
Steven
