Default 2003 XK8 occassional no start

If I go out to start this car when, it will either start right away or crank over like I disconnected the spark coils and refuse to fire. I can go out a few hours later and it starts right up and runs like nothing was ever wrong.
It never does this when it is stopped after being warmed up.
This has happened 3 or 4 times over the last 6 months..
Yes, battery is good and charged.
Reminds me of the old days when a XKE would not start because the points got wet from rain or condensation.
Any ideas?
Thanks

What is the battery voltage across the terminals with the ignition in the OFF position when measured with a voltmeter?

What is the fuel pressure during a no-start event? Use a smart phone with the Torque app to communicate with the vehicle PCM through the OBD port via a Bluetooth interface to read the fuel pressure. There should be around 3 bar with the ignition in the ON position prior to engaging the starter motor.

I had a similar issue with my 97. It would crank over just fine but refused to start. Check to see if you have fuel pressure and spark. If you still have fuel pressure and spark, it could be the same issue I had, which was a failed "transmission rotary switch."

Thanks gentlemen
Battery voltage is fine. 12.6. This car lives on a tender when not in use.
Will check the fuel pressure. Great idea and so obvious I should have already done it. Thanks.
First I have heard about a "transmission rotary switch". Not even sure what that is.
FYI, it started and ran fine today after nothing new being done.
I think I have seen a correlation between "no start" and rain.
The car sits under a cover outside sometimes and I do believe that every time this has happened, there has been a rain storm the previous day. Not 100% sure on that.
